Forest Hill, TX – A local Texas rapper, G$ Lil Ronnie, and his 5-year-old daughter were tragically killed in a targeted shooting at a car wash in Forest Hill on Monday morning. The incident, which occurred shortly before 11 a.m. at Slappy’s Express Car Wash on Forest Hill Drive, has left the community and the victims’ family in deep mourning.
According to the Forest Hill Police Department, two suspects approached the victims’ vehicle and opened fire. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by responding officers, both G$ Lil Ronnie, 30, and his young daughter were pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses reported hearing between 20 and 30 gunshots, leading investigators to believe the attack was not random.
Authorities have identified one suspect and issued an active capital murder warrant, but have not yet released the names of those involved. Both suspects are described as Black males wearing blue jeans and gray sweaters, who fled the scene in a white four-door Kia.
The Texas Rangers are leading the investigation, with support from multiple local law enforcement agencies, including the Forest Hill Criminal Division, Fort Worth Police Department, Everman Police Department, Kennedale Police Department, and the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.
Family members and friends of the victims expressed their grief and disbelief. Stella Houston, Lil Ronnie’s aunt, spoke to WFAA, describing him as a devoted family man and a rising rapper who kept to himself. “He was a good kid. He didn’t bother nobody. He didn’t target nobody. He was a family man and he was going around rapping, okay. Why would you target him?” Houston said.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, marking the fourth and fifth homicides in Forest Hill this year. In contrast, the city reported no homicides in 2024, according to police records.
In the wake of this devastating loss, the family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for funeral expenses for both Lil Ronnie and his daughter. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
